Torchwood Season: 3 Airing Dates Finalized

The wait for “Torchwood” season: 3 will end this July, when the first episode of this sci-fi series appears on your television screens. The first episode of season three of this TV show is titled “Children of Earth” and it’s going to air on 9pm, Monday July 6th on BBC One in the UK and from July 20th on BBC America HD. It’s just about a week from now when we get to see the whole action that we were missing so much, again.

The trailer of first episode of “Torchwood” season three is already on the youtube and millions of fans are watching this trailer everyday. The trailer has been given a 5 star rating and this gives us a fair idea about what to expect this time around on this sci-fi series. “Torchwood” is a modern day sci-fi series. It has modulated into itself the new age special effects, gadgets, modern view point on the appearance of aliens. The alien we saw in the 80’s are definitely a stark contrast to what we are seeing now. Definitely sci-fi shows have evolved with times.

“Torchwood”, is stepping into its third season and we can expect the unexpected this time around as well because that is one element that makes television shows work, no matter what genre they belong to. I would love the team members of the “Torchwood” covert agency to get more hostile, witty and mean when it comes to dealing with the aliens. Get Ready! The “Torchwood” team is gonna be in action soon.

Get Ready Folks! Torchwood Season 3 To Commence Soon!

Torchwood, a gripping sci-fi series is due to enter into its third season shortly. As per the official announcement, it is due to commence during the spring of 2009. Going by that statement, we can hope for a new run of the show, shortly.

During October last year, news was already in circulation that shooting for the fresh episodes of Torchwood had started in Cardiff, Wales. The set for this shoot involved a massive crater that shrouds a major city with smoke. The crew members had put in great physical and mental efforts to make over the area outside Wales into a colossal explosion crater. With visible signs of twisted metal, smoke and fire we can only guess what Captain Jacks Harkness, the head of Touchwood Three, and the rest of the gang will have to encounter this time around.

For those of you who might not aware, let me tell you that Torchwood is a spin-off of the very popular sci-fi series Dr. Who’s 2005 revival series. Since its premiere on 22, October, 2006, the euphoria created by Torchwood fails to die down. The series has a great star cast and every character fits well into the storyline and the best thing about the show is that there is no useless stuff.

Look at the unique plot. Torchwood is a secret organization that is merely a ’special ops’ group, in the eyes of the public. However, its members are committed to explore all extra-terrestrial occurrences and then search for alien technology that they can use themselves. To present the description of the organization in brief, it is a unique entity not related to the government, police or any official organization in any manner.

Torchwood has been topping the popularity charts since its induction as a full fledged series. During its first season run it got a viewer rating of 72% which increased to 83% during the second season. We can now only expect the fan count to grow in this season by leaps and bounds. Fans of this show, like me, are already eagerly looking forward for the new season and we expect the wait to end pretty soon. I m sure the new season is going to rock!

‘Torchwood’ second season finale ‘Exit Wounds’

The episode which brings ‘Torchwood’ second season to an end was entitled ‘Exit Wounds’ and it continued with the stuff left unsolved by the previous episode. ‘Exit Wounds’ received 3.13 million viewers.

We saw that the Torchwood team went to the sites of rift activity. 4 senior police officers had been killed by weevils so Gwen went to the Police Station. Some ghosts are found at the central server building so Tosh and Ianto rushed to the building. They soon found the cause of the threat and shot them. Meanwhile, Owen went to St. Helen’s Hospital.

Captain John began a campaign of terror across Cardiff. He set off powerful explosives that damaged city’s secret nuclear facilities. We also saw the return of the violent captain John Hart. And, the man returned with the only one mission to take revenge on Torchwood. Jack was seen standing against his former friend and encountered John Hart on the hub. In a tough struggle, they both were transferred 2000 years back to the past. The team was separated from Jack and was facing nuclear holocaust…. It was amazing to watch them trying to do their best to save the world. It was really a very emotional season finale…. And it was also hard to believe that they killed two people, including Owen also. I was moved to tears after watching this episode. I am not kinda guy who starts crying after watching emotional stuff on TV but ‘Exit Wounds’ really made me cry. Wholly, ‘Exit Wounds’ was a mixture of comic moments, dramatic moments, sad moments and action moments also.

Well, all episodes of third season of ‘Torchwood’ were brilliant and we enjoyed the show to a great extent. I guess the upcoming episodes would be more entertaining and enjoyable ones.

As of now, we all have set our sights on the third season of series which is likely to premiere this summer.

Everybody loves John Barrowman

So what if he appears on late night shows, talking openly about his sexual orientations and those videos create hullabaloo in media. Despite this, a nice person always remains nice. Although many people oppose Torchwood star’s frankness and life style, still he has uncountable fans in his baggage. Being a great guy, he is liked by everyone. He’s bold, sweet and a straight forward person; this is not my personal opinion but his fans’ comments about him on different sites. At present, he is the word of every tongue due to his bold comments about sexual orientation, especially after the controversial participation of first transgender contestant in ‘America’s Next Top Model‘.

In his statement to buddy TV he asserted that it’s his life and he does the kind of work he likes to do. He says he enjoys talking on late night shows, because he is comfortable at that. He commented,” “Now if someone puts that on YouTube and it’s accessible, that’s not my problem. I am very aware of that but I always say to people who do things and say things about me, ‘Please remember that my nieces and nephews read this stuff about me, please remember that other children read this.’”

I believe he is right, he has his own life style and has right to do the things he likes, professionally as well personally. Nobody has right to criticize him when somebody else is manipulating his versions for one’s own pleasure by putting it on social sites. Moreover, he knows the correct way to say his things in comparison to those people who openly oppose him for his openness. Oh please! You guys live and let him live in peace. It’s better to simply enjoy his work that you like, and ignore what you dislike, instead of creating a fuss about that in media.

Whatever his sexual preferences are, he is a good and caring human being like everybody else. His appearance on ‘Doctor Who‘ and ‘Torchwood‘ has given him recognition in every house. Not only youngsters but kids too remain desperate to watch Captain Jack. Fans damn care about a few moot scenes. They just know to adore Captain Jack. The popularity of the series has helped it survive for the third season and it won’t be wrong if you are expecting a fourth season as well. Think that your wish is granted!

Sizzling season one

Whenever I watch ‘Torchwood’ episodes, it seems like I am reading different chapters of a comic book series. Some stories in the season one are closely similar to comic book series, especially episodes like, ‘Cyber Woman’, ‘They Keep Killing Suzie’, ‘Combat’ and finale episode, ‘End of Days’.

Season one is a sizzling season with lot many interesting happenings including 3d images of the monsters, check out Weevils in ‘Combat’ and giant Abaddon in ‘End of Days’. It has amazing special effects, well woven stories leaving no questions or doubts behind and wonderful acting as well as direction, the bottom-line is, this show is fantastic and is my most favorite.

The story was pretty catchy from the very first episode. In ‘Everything Changes‘, ‘Torchwood’ group and its proceedings are introduced. Their hi-tech hub is really impressive with sidewalk slab lift with a perception field which leads to ‘Roald Dahl Plass’ and allows the user to become invisible to the passersby.

In second episode ‘Day One’ Gwen joins the Torchwood team and they fight with a gaseous alien, who enters female body to soak up energy of male victims. In every episode, these guys introduce either a strange gadget or a mysterious alien; this is the thing which has kept me bound with the show till now.

Although second season went well, but still I found the first season as more adventurous and happening. The Cyber Woman episode is similar to a comic book story, which I read in my childhood. In that comic book there was a scientist, who was trying to bring his wife back to life with the help of electric power, after she died due to a heart attack. But, like the woman in this episode, she turned into an energy hungry monster that started absorbing all the electricity from power stations.

In ‘Small Worlds‘, here is a very interesting story of Fairies, who find a girl child as their ‘chosen one’ and are keen to convert her into fairy. The Torchwood team works hard to save her but they have to bow down at last. You know when the episode started I was imagining traditional fairies, wearing white gowns and a silver crown on head, but these fairies are more like a monster with long and sharp ears. But this episode was really weird.

‘Out Of Time’ is the excessively emotional episode of the season. Here three people return from the future, which they had unknowingly entered through the rift. When they return in contemporary times, they find it difficult to deal with changed life styles and one of them commits suicide.

You will find something fresh in every episode of this season and that’s why I prefer to watch these episodes, whenever I come here to download. This season is tremendously good!
